There are a lot of celebrities that seem to have been around for ages and we remember them for their style, their personality and their talent. But do you know how they started out? 1. Rihanna
Rihanna’s first red carpet was in 2005 when she signed a record deal and started her climb up the ladder of success and her songs were climbing the charts. This little outfit and her general demeanor show how unsure she was back then. Now she’s the Queen of red carpets.
2. Angelina Jolie
Angelina’s first red carpet wasn’t even for anything she was in. Her father is a famous actor so she often showed up to events with him. Now she’s a Hollywood A-lister, actress, director, and generally a very famous and gorgeous lady who’s trying to use her fame and money for good and help those less fortunate all over the world.
3. Emma Watson
Emma’s first red carpet was for Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. She was a child then and she dressed like one. This was her attempt at looking grown-up we assume. But look at her now.
4. Julia Roberts
Julia’s first breakthrough was in the movie Steel Magnolias, which came out in 1989. It got her a Golden Globe and worldwide recognition. Since then she’s been one of the biggest Hollywood Star. But the first red carpet she attended was for the movie Runaway Train in 1985. You can tell her red carpet presence has changed significantly since then.
5. Bruce Willis
Remember when Bruce still had hair? Yeah, that was a while back. In fact, Bruce didn’t become famous right away. He went through a fair share of small roles and theater productions before he was cast in the hit show Moonlighting.
6. Jennifer Lopez
J Lo’s big acting breakthrough was Selena in 1997. That was her first success in Hollywood and it got her a Golden Globe too. It’s hard to imagine J Lo not being the star that she is now, right?
7. Meryl Streep
Meryl’s first red carpet was in 1997 for a movie The Seduction of Joe Tynan and she wasn’t even well known back then. But in 1998 she got her breakthrough and the rest is history. What a difference in style and flair, don’t you think? She’s Hollywood royalty at this point.
8. Meg Ryan
It’s pretty funny that Meg’s first red carpet was for a movie called Rich and Famous back in 1981 when she was just starting out. She then went on to actually become rich and famous and well-loved by audiences for her roles in the best rom-coms of the 80s and 90s.
9. Drew Barrymore
Drew was born into Hollywood stardom in a way. Her father was a famous actor and it was only a matter of time until she followed in his footsteps. Her first red carpet was for E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial directed by Steven Spielberg when she was only 7.
10. Robert Downey Jr.
Before he was Iron Man, Robert Downey Jr had quite and strange and eventful life. At this point, we all know the struggles he went through. But his first red carpet was for the movie Going for the Gold: The Bill Johnson Story. He was there with Sarah Jessica Parker who he was dating at the time.
