Ten Greatest Comics You Should Read

  Comics
Comic books are wonderful! Comic book (or should I say a realistic novel?) is the place writing meets craftsmanship. What's more, I'm not talking standard stories like The Justice fighters, Gatekeepers of The World, etc. I'm talking stories that go further, stories that uncover our most profound feelings of dread and expectations. All things considered, here's 10 funnies that I figure everyone should totally peruse!

Watchmen

Before I state anything, it would be ideal if you note that this realistic novel made it to the Time's "Untouched 100 Biggest Books" rundown of 2005. What's more, there's an explanation behind that. Guardians is a muder puzzle that in the long run unfurls into a worldwide trick while presenting the most stunning and complex characters ever.

Tank girl

This one is my personal favorite. This is a British comic book about post-apocalyptic Australia. The co-creator of this punk madness is Jamie Hewlett. Yep, the same guy who created Gorillaz. So, the story is about a crazy girl named Tank Girl who keeps trying to save the world, and her boyfriend Booga, who follows her everywhere and makes her tea.

Saga

Saga is a relatively new comic book series. From the very first issue you can tell it was influenced by Star Wars. A couple that happens to be of different species fall in love, have a baby, and live the life of outlaws. Ok, it might sound like nothing special, but trust me, you’ll love it. And it features an alien species that have TV sets instead of heads. How awesome is that?

Hellboy

Ok, you’ve probably seen the movie, but have you ever read the comics? If not, please, do yourself a favor and go read it right now!

Daredevil: Born Again

This one is a mandatory reading for all Marvel fans, Daredevil in particular, out there. In this one, Kingpin does everything to make Daredevil’s life as miserable and horrible as possible. He does it step by step by destroying everything Mardock would care about – his career, reputation, his money, his home. Did he make it to Mardock? You’ll have to read to find out.

The Walking Dead

The Walking Dead series basically re-started the zombie craze in the early 00s. As much as I hate the last seasons of the tv series, the comic book series are really worth your time.

Invisibles

The complexity of this story is that the villains are too afraid to know they are villains. These people don’t need to be defeated, they need to be saved. This comic is one of those cases when you actually feel sorry for the bad guys.

Batman: The Killing Joke

In this one, Batman actually tries to put an end to the endless war that’s been going on between him and Joker. But since the story ends with Batman grabbing the Joker, we will never really know the real end to the story.

Ghost World

This one is about cool girls, soul searching, alienation, and disappointing your friendships. Out of everything that was listed above, the Ghost World has the most relatable story that can be projected onto all of us, in one way or another.

Mous

If you enjoyed George Orwel’s Animal Farm, you’ll definitely enjoy this one too. Nazi Germany, Holocaust survivor telling his story, and people represented as animals. If you are into the World War II stories, this one is a must read for you.
