8 Greatest Women Of Marvel Universe

  Entertainment

They’re brilliant, strong, and powerful and deserve to be celebrated. Even if you’re not a huge comics fan, we bet you’ve seen your share of Marvel movies, since they’re the ones that are racking up the big bucks in cinemas lately. So here’s our list of the greatest women in the Marvel Universe (in no particular order), feel free to let us know who your favorites are.

1. Storm, X-men

Storm is a mutant and her powers are controlling the weather. It might sound strange, but being in control of the atmosphere and weather is an incredibly powerful ability. She can cause a storm, blow you away with the wind or strike you with lightning if she feels like it. She was portrayed by Halle Berry in the X-men movies and we think she did an amazing job.

2. Gamora, Guardians of the Galaxy

Gamora is a lethal assassin, she’s super strong, agile and has superior healing powers. But she also has a sense of what’s right and what’s not. She’s fair and that’s her soft spot. She was played in the movie by Zoe Saldana and even though they could have made her green using special effects, the actress wanted to do it using makeup. It took hours to apply each day, but the result was astonishing.

3. Shuri, Black Panther

Shuri is a Princess of Wakanda and T’Challa’s sister. She’s got wealth and power on her side. She’s also skilled in martial arts, but she’s also very intelligent and prefers to use the newest technologies (that are often invented by her) to her advantage. We love a powerful woman who relies on her intellect rather than muscle.

4. Captain Marvel

Before she became Captain Marvel, Carol Danvers was a test pilot. On one of her flights, her engine exploded and she lost her memory but gained superpowers. She has superhuman strength, an ability to heal at a very fast rate, she can shapeshift, and fly. She’s portrayed by Brie Larson and the Captain Marvel movie became a massive international success.

5. Black Widow

Black Widow might not have actual superpowers, but she’s a pro at many martial arts, she’s a brilliant spy and can outsmart anyone. She uses her intellect and her looks to her advantage and Iron Man’s gadgets are a great bonus for her too. She proves that you don’t need a

superpower to be a superhero, you just need to apply yourself.

6. Rogue

Rogue’s superpower is unique and very handy. She can borrow a superpower of anyone she touches with her bare skin. There is a catch though, she absorbs their life force too, so if she touches someone for a long time she can kill them. This means she basically can’t touch anyone without hurting them, but in terms of superpowers, you’ve got to admit it’s a cool one to have.

7. Scarlet Witch

Scarlet Witch is legitimately one of the most powerful women in the Marvel Universe. We’d go as far as saying she’s one of the most powerful characters altogether. She’s got so many superpowers including telekinesis, telepathy, teleportation, and flight. She can also predict the probability of things happening and use magic spells, not to mention her insane ability to just warp and rebuild reality.

8. Hela

Hela is not just a character who happens to get superpowers, she’s a god. Well, an Asgardian goddess of death to be more exact. She might be a villain in the comics, but she’s a very powerful female character. She’s a goddess so it makes sense that her stretch, speed, reflexes, and stamina are superior to those of not only humans but even some superheroes.
