Halloween is coming up, and for those of you that are in a committed (or less so) relationship, this is a great opportunity to make a statement to the world that you’re a power couple. And there’s nothing that says “power couple” quite like wearing a great “combo” Halloween costume. So, here are the 8 best couple Halloween costume ideas!
Britney & Justin (All Denim Everything)
That photo of Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake wearing all-denim-everything is so popular that everyone knows about it. And yet, for the past decade or so I’ve seen very few couples choose that as their idea for a Halloween costume. And it makes no sense to me, because it’s very likely that you already have most (if not all) the required attire in your wardrobe! Denim jeans + denim jacket + a denim bag or hat = amazing costume for two!
Harley & Joker
Now that Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker is out and the new Harley Quinn movie has been announced, the super villain power-couple costume is going to be very in-vogue. The clothes are the easy part, but you’re going to need a good makeup artist to really pull off this look.
Beetlejuice
Here’s a costume idea that you’re definitely going to need to go shopping for, but also one that’s going to be memorable for everyone who sees it! All it takes is for you to watch Beetlejuice (or, really, any Tim Burton movie) and pick two characters from it. Like with the Harley and Joker costume, the thing that’s really going to set your costume apart is the makeup, so make sure to set aside some time to make sure your faces look like what they’re supposed to look.
Oreo
The Oreo costume is a somewhat lazy costume, but that doesn’t subtract from the fact that it’s a great costume for a couple. All you need is a white t-shirt and some construction paper to make you and your significant other two halves of the beloved Oreo cookie! How sweet!
Adams Family
I know it says “Adams Family”, but really all you need to pull this off is the two most memorable characters — the parents. And, in terms of getting the proper clothes for the costume, it should be pretty easy. You need a black suit and a black dress. To really add to it, you can cover your face in white powder to look pale, and then you’re golden!
Muppets
There’s an easy and a difficult way to dress up as the Muppets. The easy one is to just wear the colors that would be appropriate for the Muppets and to say that you’re the Muppets. One step above that is just getting the appropriate masks. But the only way to go “all in” with this costume is to get the masks, the clothes, and commit to doing the voices for the entire evening.
Mickey and Minnie
Here’s a lazy couple costume that’s even easier than the Oreo one. For this one all you need is appropriate ears, and if you’ve ever been to Disneyland before — you probably already have those. But even if you don’t, you can get them from Amazon, Ebay, or your online marketplace of choice.
Harry & Hermione
Harry Potter costumes are never going to go out of style. So, get yourself a black robe, some wands, some Gryffindor scarves, and you can go to your nearest Halloween party dressed up as Harry and Hermione. The only problem with this costume is that Harry and Hermione were never actually a couple, but nobody’s that picky at a Halloween party (especially after some jello shots)!
